Why Direct Sales? Polyfusion Audio products have been receiving high praises since the early 1990s (see our reviews). The goal now is to get the equipment to the people for whom it was designed. In critically re-thinking our marketing plan and with an honest evaluation of market trends, we have concluded the following: One We have realized that a significant portion of Audio dealers
are driven by the easy sale, hence their energies tend to be dedicated
mainly to big name brands. Many are reluctant to take on "new"
lines. The commitment necessary to promote lesser known brands is further
hampered by the ongoing financial pressures faced by dealers. The delayed
gratification, the "promotion curve" of establishing new products,
creates little incentive to the dealer. Unfortunately the practice of
this thinking creates a disservice to the audio community, that of limited
selection and "Big Name" steering. Like all human endeavors, it boils down to motivation ours is Music, while theirs is money. Of course Polyfusion is not a charity, however our core business is only mildly supported through audio sales and has become much more a labor of love than a labor for profit (see our Company Profile by The Inner Ear Report). We have an honest passion to create the finest audio equipment available at prices that are affordable not just to the financially elite. Pride in offering the very best in Audio Equipment, with true value, is a driving force at Polyfusion Audio. Three Retailers depend heavily on magazine exposure to bring consumers to their stores. A full page advertisement in a major audio publication can easily cost $5,000. List price of a cover page with a single commitment is over $15,000. Consider a half dozen magazines with ads running in most issues, not to mention the costs of putting together the ads, and you are facing enormous expenses. Just as with other products, who will end up paying for these advertising costs? You guessed it: the consumer. Four Currently our line is exclusively two channel. This is our passion and has certain merits that we are reluctant to give up. The consumer interest has in significant part shifted to Home Theater products. This is where a tremendous portion of the audio dollars are flowing. This has caused dealers to lose much of their former interest in lesser known, yet highly evolved two channel product alternatives.
We dont aspire to be another Krell or Levinson - although in our humble opinion, we outperform them and arent nearly as expensive. Those companies have immense pressures that we are happy to be without. The burden of supporting audio dealers, advertising, PR firms, and manufacturer representatives are all very expensive. Without these costs of promotion standing between us, the manufacturer, and you, the consumer, we are able to offer great audio equipment for far less money. Many of our customers find dealing directly with the factory more appealing than with third parties. Clearly some prefer dealing with retail outlets and we acknowledge that retailers have a definite place in the industry. But for those who simply want great sound, great engineering and exceptional value, Polyfusion Audio Direct is worth your consideration.
