This massive amplifier also contains a wealth of special features, such as Bargraph Power Meters and total onboard diagnostics with front panel readouts. The output stage is comprised of matched custom Polyfusion MOSFETs which yield a breathtaking soundstage with perfect phase and accuracy and Overwhelming Dynamics.

960 Highlights

Power up to 580 Watts into 2 OHMS - more than ample power to properly drive almost any speakers. Over 110dB of channel separation & signal to noise ratio of 106 dB.

Operating Class (BIAS) - We are hesitant to assign one of the standard classifications to our output circuitry such as Class-A or A/B, because with our custom MOSFETs and proprietary drive circuitry, we are achieving Class-A (lowest distortion) performance at all power levels, even those typically thought to require Class A/B.

DC Coupled - there are no capacitors in the signal path thus eliminating coloration. A servo control holds DC output at zero, insuring speaker safety.

Manual & Auto Mute - the panel mounted mute switch is a unique and helpful feature. The manual mode allows the user to switch cables safely without shutting the unit down. The Auto Mute is driven by the on-board diagnostics feature and functions in the event of a problem.

On Board Diagnostics - detection circuitry which insures safety of the amplifier and speakers through the instantaneous shutting down of the outputs if excessive clipping, a DC fault, low line voltage or Over-temperature is detected.

Bargraph Power Meters - provide a unique visual indication of the amplifiers output power. The graph is in 3dB steps and is able to be shut off with a hidden switch.

Diagnostic Indicators - show the status of the amplifier - Mute, DC Fault, Over-Temperature, or Clipping will be displayed in the diagnostic window.

Ultra Low Distortion (THD+N) - at full output the 960 produces less than .02% distortion (this rating is conservative and frequently tests better).

Matched MOS-FETS - are significantly superior sonically to bi-polar transistors. One of the keys to the warmth and ultra low distortion is our careful matching of the (24) MOS-FETS in each Model 960. By matching their individual characteristics, we insure that they all equally share the load.

Massive Power Storage - through the use of (8) large capacitors, the Model 960 has over 375,000 Microfarads of energy storage capacity. This far exceeds most other amplifiers. This excessive storage capacity allows the amplifier to properly handle any call for energy - from a tremendous burst, large transients, or a sustained passage such as from a pipe organ. The 960 does not rely on instantaneous power directly from the wall. This is key to the Model 960's powerful and incredibly authoritative sound.

Chassis Quality - The 960 chassis is made of anodized aluminum, and has three panel colors options, Gold, Silver or Black. These panels are precision milled and then anodized with extreme care.

Musicality - Although the 960 is a "brute of an amp" at 70 lbs, it is capable of articulating the most delicate subtlety in the music. Marty DeWulf (Bound For Sound) called it an "iron fist in a silk glove."
